On behalf of the particle therapy co-operative (ptcog) I am writing to express my sincere appreciation for the very successful ptcog 46 annual scientific meeting and educational workshop that was hosted by the wanjie croup Co.,Ltd. I am the immediate past chairman of the ptcog and am writing this letter to you because it was during my chairmanship that we selected wanjie and zibo for the site of our 2007 scientific meeting and educational workshop. During September 2006 I visited wanjie and zibo for a site inspection and was greatly impressed by the facilities and the enthusiasm that was shown by the wanjie group for hosting our meeting.
The education workshop was the first one that we have held and the participants stated that is was well organized and very instructive. Based on the success of the wanjie workshop, the ptcog has decided to continue to hold such workshops at future meetings. We thank you for making you proton facility and staff available for conducting practical measurements and for making the wanjie international hotel available for housing the participants and instructors.
The ptcog scientific meeting was held in zibo and I must say that we have never experienced such a wonderful reception. The scientific meeting and the social events were a great success. Please express our appreciation to the mayor. Governor and the officials of the health ministry and others who made time in their busy schedules to meet with us.
Please give our special thanks to mr .sun for his magnificent generosity and for his enormous contributions to proton therapy in china .he is a man of great vision and accomplishment and we realize that his significant support was responsible for the success of the ptcog 46 meeting .we thank everyone who helped with the meeting. Please express our appreciation to all of the students and others who volunteered to work during the meeting and who helped to make our visit to china so enjoyable.

在此我代表国际粒子（质子）治疗协作委员会表达我衷心的感谢。由万杰集团主办的第46届国际粒子（质子）肿瘤放射治疗大会例会和培训班都非常成功。作为上任主席写信给您，是因为是在我的主席任期内，我们选择了淄博、万杰作为2007年会议和培训班的举办地。2006年9月我曾到淄博万杰作了现场调研，对于设备和万杰集团主办会议的热情印象非常深刻。
我们是第一次组织这样的培训班，参与者认为组织的非常好，也非常有意义。借鉴万杰的成功经验，国际粒子（质子）治疗协作委员会决定在今后会议中继续组织这样的培训。我们感谢你提供了质子设备和工作人员作为会议的实际测量地点，提供了万杰国际大酒店作为参会者和授课人员的住宿地点。
对于这次在淄博举办的国际粒子（质子）肿瘤放射治疗学术会议，我必须说我们从来没有接受过这样的礼遇。学术会议和社会活动都非常成功。请向在百忙之中接见我们的卫生部官员和省长、市长表示我的衷心感谢。
请转达我们对孙董事长的特别感谢。他具有广阔的胸怀，为中国的质子治疗做出了巨大的贡献。他是一位具有远见卓识的人。我们知道他的支持是第46届国际粒子（质子）肿瘤放射治疗大会成功举办的关键。我们感谢帮助这次会议的所有人。请向所有的学生和在会议期间工作的志愿者表达我们的谢意，他们帮助我们完成了这次有意义的中国之行。
