Dear President Sun and Dr Li Jiamin,
Thank you for the email and the offer of a position as a professor of Zibo Wanjie Hospital and Shandong Wanjie Medical Institute. I am delighted to accept.
PTCOG 46 was a great success both as a scientific and social event. It was very interesting to hear how much has been achieved in Wanjie. The teaching course covered much of the basics of proton therapy and the recent technical and clinical advances were well covered in the main meeting.
The level of support for the delegates and the social functions were quite exceptional. The transport to and from the airport was much appreciated by those of us not used to China . You and the community of Wanjie and Zibo should be proud of the conference.
I hope that will be able to work together in the future. We do not yet have a proton facility in Australia but have been working towards one since 1999. The success of your centre and others in the USA and Europe should help us persuade our government or a private operator to build one in Australia .
Wanjie is the closest proton therapy centre to Australia and we would be interested in collaborating in radiobiology research and proton dosimetry through the Universities of Sydney and Wollongong .
The Australian Government does pay to send some patients overseas for proton therapy and others organise this themselves. Many Australians are originally from China and they may be particularly interested in having treatment there.
You and your colleagues will also be very welcome in Sydney.

第46届国际粒子（质子）肿瘤放射治疗大会无论在学术上还是在社会活动上都是非常成功的。非常高兴能够看到万杰取得了这么大的成绩。培训班课程涵盖了质子治疗的基础知识，正式会议对近期技术和临床的最新发现做了全面的交流。
大会对所有参会代表的帮助和支持都是相当出色的。往返机场的交通服务对我们这些不熟悉中国的人非常有用。你们和淄博、万杰是这次会议的骄傲。
我希望今后可以共同工作。目前在澳大利亚还没有质子设备，但自从1999年我们就在做这方面的工作。你们和其它在美国、欧洲的中心所取得的成功可以帮助我们劝说政府或者某家私营企业者在澳大利亚建立一家中心。
万杰是距离澳大利亚最近的质子中心。我们希望能够通过悉尼大学和卧龙岗大学与你们在放射生物学研究和质子放射量测定方面达成合作。
澳大利亚政府会为一些到国外接受质子治疗的患者支付费用，也有些患者是自己支付。许多澳洲人是中国华人，他们应该会非常乐意在中国接受治疗。
非常衷心地希望你们和你们的同事能够到悉尼来。
